.: Asbury Park, NJ :.

Today my friend and I explored Asbury Park, NJ. It was the first time I used my new camera for actual artistic photography; and I LOVED it. I adore my Canon Rebel XT Nothing came out blurry even without flash and there was lots of wind making my hands shake.

Asbury Park has a long, old history. Suposedly its mayor stole funding money long ago and it fell to deteoration ever since. It is an abandoned boardwalk town with lots of creepy kitsch things such as "Tillie" and the famous old fortune teller, and "the face" in the metal with pupils. I took photos of it all.

Everywhere you go, there are paintings, carvings, moldings, etc. of creepy fish and sea creatures. Everything is in deteoration and decay. It seemed as if the town was stuck in the wrong time era; frozen. No one was around really and it was very overcast and windy. You could not help but feel uneasy and out of place. It felt like the town held many secrets and seen many things. I wonder how it looked during its prime years before it went to ruin.

enjoy...
